An event every day that begins at 11:00am, repeating until Sunday, October 23, 2016
Ramster Garden, a much loved hidden gem in Chiddingfold, will open every day from 11am-4pm from Saturday 15th October until Sunday 23rd October. Visitors will be treated to spectacular Autumn sights including the amazing acers which are renowned for their seasonal display of fiery shades of reds and russets.
Famed for its superb collection of rhododendrons and azaleas, Ramster Garden – a much celebrated spring garden – is now on the map of one of the best places to see autumn colour. The unique 100-year-old avenue of maples, woodland areas with oak and larch, and American red gum tree Liquidambar which has long-lasting autumn shades of orange, crimson and purple, create a breath-taking burst of colour are not to be missed.
Rosie Glaister, who runs the 20-acre garden along with other members of her family which span three generations, is passionate about sharing the wonderful autumn sights with its loyal audience;
“Our garden which has been in the family for over 90 years is renowned for its glorious spring horticultural delights but it is also fabulous in October. The maples are magical and a very important reminder of the Japanese influence throughout the garden which was originally created in 1890 by Gauntletts of Chiddingfold, also known as the Japanese Nursery.”
During opening times, The Tea House will be serving a selection of delicious cakes, sandwiches, snacks and drinks. Entry fees apply to the garden (seasonal ticket holders free). Dogs on short leads welcome.
