Bourton House Gardens

Intensively planted, this 3-acre garden features excitingly planted herbaceous borders full of stunning plant and colour combinations.

Neatly clipped box and yew is found in knots, parterres and spiralling topiary. Water wends it way through small fountains, pools and ponds. A subtropical border, raised alpine troughs, a shade-house, all provide further variety in this continually evolving garden, and add to the whole, a myriad of magically planted pots and containers.

Planted less than 10 years ago with a wide variety of trees, the seven-acre field opposite already boasts some sizeable specimens. The imposing 16th century Tithe barn now houses a gallery of contemporary Art, Craft and Design.
