Gardens to Visit

Cerney House Gardens

Cerney House Gardens are a romantic, secret step back into the past. Set amongst parkland, this family-run estate bulges with old-fashioned splendour. The central walled garden boasts a working kitchen garden complemented with generous herbaceous borders and roses of every description. A quieter knot garden plays host to the annual 'Floral Fireworks' tulip festival. There is a well-labelled herb garden that leads to the woodland, which is carpeted in the spring with snowdrops followed by bluebells. The avenue beds lead to genera borders that map out plant connections and end in turn amongst the ever-growing arboretum. There are plant collections throughout, including the national collection of Tradescantia. The air is full of scents and nature's sounds. But this is still essentially a family garden where your guide will often be one of the many resident pets.
