The Cotswold landscape is one of the most evocative in England. Gently rolling hills, secluded wooded valleys, clear running streams, delightful Cotswold stone buildings and unspoilt villages all paint a picture of timeless beauty.
Crowning glory of the Cotswolds is its gardens, over 50 in all, including some of the finest in Britain. In 2008 the cream of these gardens are coming together to provide a series of unique and exclusive 'behind the scenes' tours which last four days and include three nights in the spectacular surroundings of Tortworth Court - one of the Cotswold's finest hotels.
Gardens visited on these very special tours include, Hidcote Manor, Kiftsgate Court, Abbey House Gardens (the home of the 'naked gardeners'), Westonbirt Arboretum, Sezincote, Mill Dene, Batsford Park, Painswick Rococo Gardens and the private gardens of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales at Highgrove House.
Hosting each of the tours is BBC garden writer, broadcaster and former Head Forester of Westonbirt Arboretum, Tony Russell. Tony leads garden tours across the world and is also Editor in Chief of the popular annual publication Gardens to Visit.
In addition to the daytime garden tours, every evening after your meal, you will be able to sit back and relax in a hotel lounge whilst enjoying a talk from some of the Cotswold's foremost gardening personalities. All talks will be relaxed, informative and fun.
In all there are three exclusive Cotswold Garden Tours taking place in 2008; one in spring May 18th - 21st; one in summer July 27th - 30th and one in autumn October 26th - 29th.
The cost for each tour is just £495.00 per person and includes quality hotel accommodation, the finest food, complimentary dinner wine, your host Tony Russell, transport throughout the tour, all garden admissions, guided tours of each garden, refreshments in the gardens and all evening talks.
