Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

Sir Harold Hillier Gardens is one of the most important
modern plant collections in the world. Established in 1953
by the distinguished plantsman Sir Harold Hillier, the
magnificent collection of over 42,000 plants from temperate regions around the world grows in a variety of superb themed landscapes set over 180-acres of rolling
Hampshire countryside.

Open throughout the year, the Gardens offer four seasons
of beauty, inspiration and discovery and includes 11
National Plant Collections, over 250 Champion Trees and
the largest winter Garden in Europe.

A £3.5 million Visitor & Education Pavilion offers fine views of the collection and surrounding countryside and features; a stylish licensed restaurant for home-cooked meals, light refreshments and afternoon teas, open-air terrace, gift shop, events, exhibitions, concerts and workshops for all ages and interests all year round.

Opening Times: Open all year except Christmas Day and Boxing Day, daily: 10am - 6pm or dusk if earlier,
open until 8pm every Thursday in June, July and August.
Admission Rates: Adults £8.25, Concession £7.15, (seniors, jobseekers, full-time students and people with
disabilities) Under 16 years - free of charge.
Group Rates: Minimum group size 10, £6.60 per person.
Facilities: £3.5 million Visitor & Education Pavilion, Open-air terrace and restaurant, Gift Shop, Plant Centre.
Disabled Access: Yes. Toilet and parking for disabled on site. Wheelchairs on loan, booking advised.

Tours/Events: Pre-booked guided tour with Curator, Botanist, Head Gardener and Horticultural staff

Location: The Gardens are situated, 2 miles north-east of Romsey. M3/M27 (West) to Romsey town centre. At Romsey follow brown heritage signs to the Hillier Gardens off the A3090. Alternatively, the Gardens can be approached from the A3057 Andover direction.
