Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

Sir Harold Hillier Gardens is one of the most important modern plant collections in the world. Established in 1953 by the distinguished plantsman Sir Harold Hillier, the magnificent collection of over 42,000 plants from temperate regions around the world grows in a variety of superb themed landscaped set over 180-acres of rolling Hampshire countryside.

Open throughout the year, every part of the Gardens offers beauty, inspiration and discovery whatever the season and includes 11 National Plant Collections, over 250 Champion Trees and the largest winter Garden in Europe.

A £3.5 million Visitor & Education Pavilion offers fine views of the collection and surrounding countryside and features; a stylish licensed restaurant for home-cooked meals; light refreshments and afternoon teas; open-air terrace; gift shop; and interpretation area explaining the role and history of the Gardens. Entry to the Pavilion is free of charge with Group bookings welcome by prior arrangement.

Daily: 10am - 6pm or dusk if earlier. Open all year except Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Admission Rates: (From 01/04/06) Adults £7.50, Concession £6.50, Senior Citizen £6.50,
Child under 16 yrs free.
Groups Rates: Minimum group size 10. Adults £6.00, Senior Citizen £6.00.

Disabled Access: Yes. Toilet and parking for disabled on site. Wheelchairs on loan, booking advised, Mobility Scooters for hire.

Location: The Gardens are situated, 2 miles north-east of Romsey. M3/M27 (West) to Romsey town centre. At Romsey follow brown heritage signs to the Hillier Gardens off the A3090. Alternatively, the Gardens can be approached from the A3057 Andover direction.
