Pinetum Park & Pine Lodge Gardens

Pinetum Park & Pine Lodge

The jewel in the crown for the St Austell district still remains relatively unexplored by many garden visitors. Pinetum Park & Pine Lodge Gardens offers a range of spectacular features for any time of the year. This 30 acre estate comprises of several gardens within the one, forming the back drop to a stunning range of over 6000 types of plants, many of which are rare and unusual, and labelled.

In stark contrast you eventually break through to open parkland, lake and mature oaks reminiscent of Capability Browns English landscape style. Then behind you lies the Japanese garden complete with authentic tea pavilion. In addition to Rhododendrons, Magnolias and Camellias so familiar in Cornish gardens there are Mediterranean and Southern hemisphere plants. There are a host of specialist planting areas including herbaceous borders, an arboretum, a water garden and well maturing 2 acre Winter garden. Possibly the most unusual feature is a collection of 80 conifers, all different, in a six acre Pinetum.
