Cowbridge Physic Garden
Established some 12 years ago, within a walled garden originally belonging to the Edmondes family, Cowbridge Physic Garden occupies just half an acre, yet it is packed with important and relevant plants and herbs (none of the species newer than 200 years, to recreate the original garden's planting history). The garden is laid out in a traditional physic garden pattern, with beds clearly identified as to which plants are used for treating ailments, or culinary and dyeing uses.
Located just off Cowbridge High Street - renowned as one of the best High Street destinations in the country for shopping and restaurants - the garden is in a perfect location in this historic market town.
Cowbridge Physic Garden is a charitable trust, maintained by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team of volunteers, it is open every day of the year (except Christmas day) and is free entry to members of the public - organised garden groups are welcomed and expert guides can be arranged.
