Deene Park

Asset 1

Deene Park has been the home of the Brudenell family for 500 years since 1514 and was the seat of the 7th Earl of Cardigan who led the Charge of the Light Brigade in 1854. The largely Tudor house with important Georgian additions is surrounded by historic gardens set in beautiful parkland views. The gardens are the lifetime work of the late Mr. Edmund and the Hon. Marion Brudenell. They comprise a David Hicks parterre with topiary teapots, long mixed borders, ‘four seasons’ garden with a spectacular planted font and circular hornbeam hedge, stone summerhouse, lakes and wild gardens. The current owner, Mr Robert Brudenell and his wife Charlotte continue to welcome visitors to the family home.

In winter, visitors can enjoy swathes of snowdrops, winter flowering shrubs, hellebores and topiary. The seasons progress through drifts of daffodils, hyacinths and wild tulips, with roses, philadelphus and summer annuals carrying through to the bold autumnal colour of the trees and shrubs.
