A peaceful oasis on the outskirts of Cardiff, Dyffryn Gardens boasts 55 acres of Edwardian garden design with the partially restored Victorian mansion situated at the heart of the property. The gardens were brought under the management of the National Trust in 2012 and are part of an ongoing revival project to restore them to their original design whilst maintaining an evolving and experimental aspect to planting schemes. Considered by Cadw to be the best Edwardian gardens in Wales, the garden features a stunning collection of intimate garden rooms, including a paved court, Pompeian garden and herbaceous border.

The striking great lawn with its picturesque canal can be seen in all its glory from the upstairs of Dyffryn House. A glasshouse showcasing an impressive cacti and orchid collection can be found within the kitchen garden, which also provides a bountiful harvest of fruit and vegetables, supplying the on-site cafés.
