About the Event
Enjoy double the fun at Borde Hill this Easter, when the marvellous magnolias will make their dramatic appearance, and children of all ages can enjoy Easter Bunny activities 11am to 3pm.
Garden open daily 10am – 5pm, Activities 11am – 3pm
Head Gardener Andy Stevens, explains: “We expect the impressive magnolias to repeat the success of last year’s bloom and give majestic colour between March and April. At over 60 feet tall, the Magnolia campbellii has been known to put on a lavish display which can be seen for miles.”
On Tuesday 5th and 12th of April at 11.30am Andy will be guiding visitors who are not in a group through the Garden to enjoy the beauty of the magnolias and their origins and cultivation. Many are the original plants collected by the Great Plant Hunters of the early 1900s, which were planted over 80 years ago by the Garden’s founder Colonel Stephenson R Clarke, and continue to flower with dramatic beauty each year.
A free magnolia map is available at all times for self guided walks.
Andy will also be giving guided tours to pre-booked groups, between 28th March and 15th April, highlighting the history and importance of the numerous Magnolias growing at Borde Hill.
