About the Event
Heavy Horses from The Working Horse Trust will be harrowing the wildflower meadow. The horses are doing an important job harrowing the meadow as they remove the thatch and open up the sward to allow the wildflowers to seed on one of the best ancient wild flower meadows in the South East.
The blue Willow gentians will be in flower. High Beeches is the only garden in the country where these beautiful plants are naturalised and grow throughout the woodland glades.
Plants for sale from Rapkyns Nursery.
The Hayward Tyler hot air engine will be running. Recently restored it is the only known one left on its original site in the country. The engine was used to pump water from the ponds to the house.
Admission £7.50, children under 14 free.
