Hens & Gardens – Great Comp
June 16 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
About the Event
Join us on Saturday 16th June for our fourth annual show celebrating hen-keeping in the home garden.
A celebration of self-sufficiency and smallholding in Sevenoaks will cast chickens firmly in the spotlight this year with talks by Francine Raymond from The Telegraph. Francine is the author of 15 books on hen-keeping. Francine is joined by Veterinarian Una McFarlane, who has a special interest in poultry medicine and will be available to provide general advice.
We are also excited to announce that Anna Louise will be bringing her popular BBC Radio Kent afternoon show to Great Comp Garden throughout the day, where she will broadcast live to the county!
The event will be held in the grounds of Great Comp Garden in Platt and feature a multitude of different pure and rare breeds of poultry for sale. Also available will be hatching eggs, poultry feed and consumables and traditional poultry housing.
Kent Smallholders will be in attendance with various informative displays and
The Kent Poultry Club will be on hand to give advice to would-be exhibitors.
The Old Dairy Tearoom will be offering special lunches, delicious cakes and refreshments.
Usual admission fees apply: £8/£7 Adult/Concession, £3 Children (6-17). Free for Great Comp Garden annual pass holders. 20% day entry discount for RHS members (individual, member 1 for joint membership and both for life members).
