2019 marks a very special year at Highgrove as it celebrates 25 years of the organic Royal Gardens at Highgrove being open to the public. This celebration continues with the announcement of the inaugural ‘Talking Food’ event at Highgrove from 15th to 19th October.
HRH The Prince of Wales believes passionately in the advantages of organic farming and is an advocate of the return to traditional agriculture with a preference for seasonable and sustainable produce. ‘Talking Food’ reflects the Prince’s values and ethos and, over 5 days, some of the UK’s most progressive chefs and food producers will participate in expert talks and presentations each day.
‘Talking Food’ is presented in association with Waitrose & Partners who will be supporting the event by providing quality seasonal produce for the chef inspired menus each day.
A line up of fantastic guest speakers are confirmed including legendary chef Anton Mosimann OBE DL, Chef Patron of Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons Raymond Blanc OBE, Breton baker Richard Bertinet, organic gardening expert, author and broadcaster Jekka McVicar, farmer, author and television presenter Adam Henson and Michelin star chef Angela Hartnett MBE. Further names are due to be announced shortly.
Each event will include a garden tour of the sensational Royal Gardens at Highgrove incorporating either a delicious two-course lunch or a champagne afternoon tea with the menu influenced by the guest chef of the day.
‘Talking Food’ promises to showcase a wealth of culinary inspiration and creativity from the nation’s best loved chefs and food experts. All profits will be donated to The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund, a grant-making body which helps a wide range of causes, including projects in the built environment, young people and education, responsible enterprise and global sustainability.

Just One thing ...
Please remember to check with the garden that the event is taking place. Plans change, things happen and while we do our utmost best to be all correct and ship shape, we cannot guarantee that we've got it right.
Please let us know if there any mistakes ... enjoy your trip.
It really helps if you say you saw the event on Gardens to Visit so please mention it when you go!
