About the Event

This popular event is now it its 16th year, and features specialist and multi-award winning nurseries, ornamental gardenware suppliers and a select group of local artists and crafts people.

Music is supplied by a local jazz ensemble and Pimms is available on the lawn.  All the ingredients you need for a perfect summer day out.

Usual admission fees apply: £8/£7 Adult/Concession, £3 Children (6-17). Free for Great Comp Garden annual pass holders.  20% day entry discount for RHS members (individual, member 1 for joint membership and both for life members).

LECTURE: ‘Shipwrecks, Bombs & Buggles’ – 25 years of plant hunting for edibles, by Paul Barney, Edulis Nursery. Saturday 11th August, 2pm, The Stable Theatre, Great Comp Garden.

Well known horticulturalist Paul Barney will be giving a lecture titled ‘Shipwrecks, Bombs & Buggles’ at the 2018 Great Comp Summer Show on Saturday 11th August at 2pm.  Paul setup Edulis Nursery over 25 years ago in order to grow unusual edibles for permaculture and forest gardens.  After 25 years and 60+ countries later, the plant range has grown to over 4,000. Paul’s talk will be illustrated with a wealth of images of plants from far flung and exotic places.


Tickets to this lecture are charged separately to the garden show (£8 pp), and can be purchased at our garden entrance (during standard opening times) or directly via our website:
