Mount Ephraim Gardens

In these ten acres of enchanting Edwardian gardens, terraces of fragrant roses lead to a small lake, water garden and woodland area. Framing the terraces is a rock garden featuring a series of pools and Japanese stone bridge. Through a motto gate lies the grass maze based on a medieval labyrinth and planted with ornamental grasses and herbaceous perennials.
Nearer to the house is the unusual topiary with a miscellany of birds, animals and First World War memorabilia, sitting alongside a traditional herbaceous border and Millennium Rose Garden, abundant with scented roses. An arboretum, an extensive collection of spring bulbs and many mature trees are other highlights, as are the views over the surrounding countryside.
The West Wing Tea Room serves homemade cakes, afternoon teas and lunches using locally sourced produce. The property also boasts a five bedroom B&B as well as the Garden Wing, sleeping 12, should you wish to stay and explore the local area. The estate has been owned by the Dawes family since 1695 and is still run by the family today. It's this family touch that lends Mount Ephraim Gardens their personal charm.
