Interlude is a contemporary restaurant located in Horsham and set within the historic woodland gardens of Leonardslee Estate.

Chef Jean Delport and his team are committed to providing each and every guest with a place to interact with nature and eat from the land in an unexpected food journey.

An ever-changing set menu draws inspiration from our listed gardens, produce grown in Interlude’s own vegetable gardens or surrounding land and by local farmers where organic principles are employed.

Our menu is guided by what is available in our garden, we strive to build our pantry through patient harvesting and preservation, taking food back to basics and showcase old traditional produce where possible.

Our unique cuisine is built on old and new techniques and we endeavour to show enormous respect for nature and seasonality by bringing our gardens to life within the restaurant.

Enjoy our delicious dégustation menus at Restaurant Interlude and explore the vast range of alluring tasting dishes.

The National Botanic Garden of Wales, in partnership with Mental Health Matters Wales, has secured funding to provide a monthly carers’ group, open to loved ones living with someone with an eating disorder.

The money – from a successful bid to the People’s Postcode Lottery – will also provide day care for people recovering from an eating disorder.

The carers’ group will host specialist speakers giving insight into areas such as behaviours, distractions, nutrition, therapy and benefits. The day care element will offer sufferers practical help such as body image work, goal setting and assisted meal support along with education and activities set around the therapeutic and picturesque setting of the Botanic Garden.

At the formal launch of the project, regional AM for South Wales West and a member of the cross-party group on eating disorders, Bethan Sayed described the move as a “wonderful, supportive and necessary project”.

The first dates for the carers’ meetings at the National Botanic Garden of Wales are Thursday 7th November 6pm-8pm and Sunday 10th November 12-2pm.

Autumn brings a blaze of colour to Batsford Arboretum and this year is expected to be particularly special thanks to an ideal mix of sunshine and showers during the spring and summer months.

Home to one of the largest private collections of trees and shrubs in the country, Batsford Arboretum is famed for putting on a show-stopping display of reds, golds and yellows until mid November thanks to the collection of Japanese maples, Sorbus, Euonymus and cherries dotted around the 56 garden.

Batsford’s Head Gardener, Matthew Hall says: “It’s been a good year for growth, most trees have produced masses of extension growth throughout the year which I’m confident will provide stunning autumn colour.”
